Event Concept

An Integrated Show - "Everything on the Expo Floor"

In 2016, all of the conference streams are now held on the expo floor and so is all the networking. This creates a more cohesive event and positions the delegates within the zone of the exhibitors stands.

Following the success of 2015, we feature 3 free conference streams that are available to visitors:

  • Field Operations – the practical experiences of engineers who are involved in AMI rollouts
  • Innovation Zone – dedicated to Smart Grid R&D
  • Technical Zone – focuses on technical insights on AMI and smart sensors

Other features include:

  • 2 VIP Breakfasts

These are exclusive forums to allow our lead sponsors to meet with utility leaders and share their key messages.

  • 3 Plenary Platforms

These are the speaking slots that bring all the conference delegates together with the visitors. They are the zones most valued by our lead sponsors.

  • 6 strategy-focused streams for the delegates and vendors to share insights:

    - Smart Grids and Meters - on AMI architecture
    - Data Architecture - data management and the cloud
Distributed Generation - grid edge strategies including solar + storage
Smart City Architecture - for water and energy planners
Data Insights - analytic platforms and how they can be used new profits
Customer Engagement - new customer empowerment strategies including gamification

  • 8 Focus Groups for peer-to-peer learning – where vendors act as Group Leaders:
The Focus Groups have been developed to better meet the peer-to-peer networking needs of our audience. We realise that in a large expo, meeting people on your wavelength facing similar challenges can be haphazard unless you are channelled into a suitable meeting space. We find these sessions work best when structured around a Focus Group Leader who is supported by subject specialists we call Expert Advisors drawn from across the stakeholders. These people form the basis of an informal panel who provide insights from their own experiences. We find Focus Groups help encourage frank conversations and can be very helpful as learning and sharing technique. It’s a great way to meet industry players and to catch up on what people really think about the important issues within your industry!

  • Networking Cocktail Reception

  • Utility Leaders Dinner
